Just a random shot in the kitchen. A pair of cast metal mussels, with a moveable hinge; they are a minimalistic, yet fancy, pair of little appetizer tongs.
I picked them up in Amsterdam a few years ago. I’m not sure why, it’s not like I entertain much. I just liked their simple elegance, they made me smile. And, even though they came from the Netherlands, they remind me of home on the West Coast.
And they made for an interesting monochrome image and provided a reason to play with depth of field a bit. I like the softness and the bokeh on the one in the back.
