Measure Twice, Cut Once

by The Philosophical Fish

Kirk has been working towards finishing the inside of the new fence this weekend, and it’s looking great. I got the messy job, painting the section caps with black paint. I have speckled feet now.

But later in the afternoon, when I walked out the front door and glanced at the pile of wood slats sitting cut on the driveway, I realized that today I didn’t need to put much effort into finding something to photograph. The photo presented itself.

I love it when it happens that way.

“Measure twice, cut once.”

It saves a lot of headaches, and a lot of waste.

But the fact that two tape measures were sitting in the driveway amused me. Presumably he was measuring things in two different places (on the fence and at the chop-saw) and at some point the two tape measures just landed int he same place.

But it still made for a photo to go well with a phrase 🙂

Some days are easy, some days are hard…as with most things.

Measure Twice, Cut Once (249/365)

I'd love to hear from you :)
