After a Sunday run into the office to pick up a few books, we were both peckish…..and thirsty….
The sun was out, and so it seemed like a good day to find a relatively empty pub patio somewhere for some beer and wings…..it seems like ages…because it has been ages.
It’s so strange to look suspiciously at a place where you have shared so many pints that you borderline qualify as “Norms” in the pub, but that’s the way it is now. The same old is definitely not the same old.
But the patio had room, and the space was adequate, and the cross breeze was good. So we opted in and enjoyed a pitcher of beer and some hot wings and gyoza.
And we tipped well; it must really suck being waiting staff these days. It’s not a big hardship to express gratitude to the people pulling your pitcher with an extra generous tip.
So we were socially antisocial…..seems about normal for us.
