Where do the blue bins go?

by The Philosophical Fish

We are intent on finishing a small project in the garden that we started last year. Over the years, we have used several types of edging ranging from flexible plastic, to red bricks, to bordering made from recycled tires.

Last summer we bought a small number of not inexpensive grey concrete bricks formed to look aged. We replaced about 30 feed of the current edging with the blocks and gave ourselves some time to decide if we liked them or not.

That seems to have turned into a year, but the end result is that we do like them and intend to finish the rest of the yard off with them.

So…..today we made two trips to Rona to pick up the additional 330 blocks, with a total weight in excess of 2500 lbs. 2500 lbs of blocks into the truck, and 2500 lbs of blocks back out of the truck at the other end. Fingers, hands, and arms now hurt. Hopefully they won’t sit in a pile for another year 🙂

While we were waiting for the fellow driving the forklift to go and find them I wandered around the lot with my camera looking for inspiration. While there wasn’t exactly anything of beauty to photograph, there was something to amuse me, and something to enrage me.

For your amusement….here was my amusement…the disarray of things not being in their proper place.

There were stacks of blue bins. Stacks of wrapped lumber. Stacks of blue pallets. And stacks of unpainted pallets.

The pavement was lettered and designated with what should be placed where.

However!

The blue bins were NOT where the blue bins belonged. Instead, a pile of Canfor wrapped lumber sat in the blue bin spot.

The blue bins were stacked in the location labelled blue pallets.

The blue pallets were stacked in the spot labelled vendor pallets.

And the unpainted pallets were in an unmarked parking spot.

You simply cannot know how annoying that was for me (unless you are like me). I felt like I should go and get that forklift driver and have him help me organize the entire yard appropriately. (Yes, I am moderately OCD and not at all ashamed of that fact)

So what enraged me?

This!

I’ve ranted about it before, so I won’t again, except to say “What the fuck is wrong with people?!?!” Anyone who does this is a POS in my opinion.

That is all for today.

Blue BinsBlue palletsWhat is wrong with people....!
