33-52-2014: Dog Tired

August 17, 2014 – That’s about how I feel! When I think of the dog days of summer I think of slowing down and relaxing, but that’s just not the case this summer. It’s been dog-gone crazy! 😉 I just looked at a calendar and I’ve only been home six days this month so far!

I still haven’t finished dealing with the photos from our week long motorcycle vacation, and then a couple of days after returning, I was on the road again for work.

Friday I was off, but crazy busy running around doing errands, and Saturday was supposed to be a quick run across the border to pick up a parcel and then head for a hair appointment. Unfortunately we got caught in one heck of a snarl at the border, and the Nexus lane was actually moving slower than the regular lanes. I ended up calling and cancelling my appointment so that my friend wouldn’t have to wait for me, and we rescheduled for next week. And to add insult to injury, the parcel that I’d been waiting for since ordering it in Seattle over a month ago…contained a badly broken item 🙁

So today I’d planned to do some gardening, and maybe make a loaf of bread and a few small batches of preserves.

Never did get to the gardening part…

Oh well, at least there are tasty items on the pantry shelf now:

  • Cranberry pepper jelly (with my garden grown peppers)
  • Apple cranberry chutney
  • Orange, apricot, cranberry chutney
  • Plum anise jam
  • Apricot rosemary jam (with my garden fresh rosemary)

So busy, but not a loss.

And tomorrow it’s back to see what new adventures await me in my inbox. A proposal to write for a project I am against (My punishment for speaking out against it… here, you’re the professional writer, you write it!), and an interesting job in another department that I’d be a fool to not apply for given the circumstances in my own program. And who knows what else.

And now that I’ve finally caught up on a few things, I’ll see if I can go back in time and finish writing up that motorcycle trip!

Every day is a grand adventure 🙂

(I found this sweetheart in Telegraph Cove this past week)

I'd love to hear from you :)
