21-52-2014: Renovations are still underway...

May 25, 2014 – As a general rule, I have little patience.

For anything.

When I have a vision, I want it fulfilled and completed….NOW!

The renovations are still underway. Slowly but surely, things are coming together, but not nearly fast enough for my sanity. the drywall is mostly done. The painting of the drywall that is complete, is done. The lights are mostly in. The flooring is mostly done.

I say “mostly” because some parts of the renovation are being done in a few stages. Since we have to live here while it is underway, we needed to have some space to exist, so we have been using the dining room as a makeshift kitchen, and the TV area was walled off. When the bulk of the kitchen is done, we will vacate those two areas and the flooring in the dining room can be done – removing the tile and completing the hardwood throughout the entire main floor (all except the tile in front of the fireplace). The other bit to finish is redoing the ceiling in the TV area to match the smooth surface that has been installed everywhere else.

No more popcorn ceiling YAY! (downstairs anyway)

The cabinetry has been chosen, the finish agreed upon, and they will start building it this coming week.

I can’t wait to get rid of the fridge and stove that are still here, can’t wait until the new appliances are delivered finally.

And I can’t wait until the dust (literally) finally settles.

I want our home back and I can’t wait until we can just relax and enjoy it.

I'd love to hear from you :)

That’s not bad…at least they are different hammers. And ugh on the living with renovations.

he still needs a soft-blow hammer, a dead blow hammer, a rubber mallet, and an upholstery hammer. At least.

I assume the 2lb, 5lb, and 10lb sledges were just out of frame?

I wonder … what is the collective noun for a group of hammers? How about a ‘Whack’ of Hammers? 😉

It makes me think of that old chestnut sing-a-long: “If I had a hammer, I’d hammer in the morning, I’d hammer in the evening, I’d hammer all daaaay!”
…I’ve been described as “Smart as a bag of frozen hammer handles!”

I just looked at the hoot again, and now I can’t stop singing… “Bang, bang Maxwell’s silver hammer came down on his head, bang, bang Maxwell’s silver hammer made sure that he was dead!”

Well; that’s better than “It’s HAMMER TIME!”
