Vibrant Vancouver

February 11, 2013 – A shot I took a few weeks ago and didn’t get back to until now. Sunny days are somewhat rare at this time of year, we are usually socked in with rain or fog, or both, so when the sun comes out, only a fool would stay in. Particularly in such a beautiful city as this is.

Yesterday was one of those days, it wasn’t incredible all day, but the sun came out long enough to warm the day up and bring smiles to all the faces that took the opportunity to get out in it. We visited Fort Langley for a wander around. We had a dozen things on the to-do list, instead the weather was too nice to justify missing out and so we enjoyed a walk around the little historic old community and I found a wonderful water resistant kangaroo leather hat that can be squashed down and stuffed in a bag. Perfect for working out in the rain, and I can even stuff it in the motorcycle for when I visit the hatcheries. I hate baseball hats with a passion, and this fabulous hat will keep my neck dry and is easier to carry than the wide brimmed leather hat I usually use when out in the field.

I intended to do some marking in the evening, and Kirk had homework to do, but minutes after getting in a friend texted and asked if we’d join her at the pub for a drink and something to eat. Since we hadn’t yet dealt with dinner, we said yes, and that pretty much wrote the day off.

Today we are on the other side of that water volunteering for the Vancouver International Boat Show, and looking at boats, of course. You simply can’t live in a place like this and not want to be on the water.

I may have mentioned, maybe once or twice, that I love this place?

I'd love to hear from you :)

It is view to warm to heart. What I like most in this photo is how the light warms that log in the forefront, and pullls the eye into the photo…lovely!
