January 20, 2012 – A silly little pair of aluminum seals that I used to play with as a child. They moved to Cranbrook with Dad, and when he moved from the house to the apartment they went along with him. When Dad downsized and moved into extended care they disappeared into a box and eventually migrated back to Vancouver where they were originally purchased so many years ago.
Funny how things seem to come full circle sometimes.
Today was a miserable day. It was -4C with snow all over the roads when Kirk dropped me off at work, and by the end of the day it was a monsoon and +8C out. BUT! Kirk surprised me with a dinner reservation at Coast, a fabulous seafood restaurant downtown that has been getting some great reviews. Dinner was stellar. A smoked parsnip seafood chowder with crispy bacon to start, grilled arctic char with a mustard honey glaze over baby potatoes in a cream sauce, and a lemon pastry with cranberry sorbet. Each course paired with a perfect wine. Gads that was a great end to the week. So forgive me for not finding a more interesting subject to photograph.
