January 21, 2012 – Busy day today. It started out with me up at 6 am and heading out to help out with a fish related workshop, then rushing home to collect Kirk and headed out to Abbotsford to meet friends at the motorcycle show. When I got home Kirk informed me that he bought tickets for the show online. But I’d already bought tickets about a month ago. He called our friends to see if maybe they could use them…but they were already there. Guess we’re going again tomorrow. Oh well, I’m sure we can find something to entertain ourselves. We missed the mini bikes and the RCMP demonstration today, maybe we will catch those tomorrow.
When we arrived the first thing Stefan said to Kirk was “I’ve found the helmet for you to try on!” and promptly started to lead us on into the depths of the masses. He didn’t disappoint, and we realized that this has now become an annual tradition…find a totally goofy helmet and get Kirk to put it on and ham it up. We spent about four hours at the show and enjoyed the company of friends. We watched a couple of demonstrations, wandered, talked, laughed. Met a few new people, ran into some we’d met last year. The bike I am currently interested in was on display. But I can wait for it while. I don’t need to have a new bike just yet, the one I have is so fabulous for me right now. Besides, something better might come along in the meantime, like a pair of NSRs?
It was a great afternoon. Finally we had to run to make the theatre back in town. A stop in for dinner, then over to the Vancouver Playhouse for a fabulous performance, with a cast of two. A tale of the tortured artist’s psyche. Red. The review is for a different performance in a different country, but it is a good overview of the story.
But the highlight of the day is always my fabulous guy and his ability to make me laugh without a word.
Does life get any better when you have this as a soulmate? Personally, I don’t think so.
