Day 190 - Welcome Aboard

190/365 (July 9, 2011) – Chantelle (our boat, and no, we didn’t name her) got some much needed attention today.

She got a good cleaning last weekend, today she got an oil change and Kirk checked out the engines well. Needs a new water pump on one engine, but otherwise she welcomed us aboard.

It’s funny, I came from the interior of BC, the only water in the immediate vicinity were the Fraser and Nechako Rivers. We had a cabin at Summit Lake too. But nowhere am I so happy as near the ocean. On the water is really the only place I can ever truly relax and unwind. Even sitting on the dock is enough, I just need that connection with the sea for some reason. I simply cannot imagine living anywhere but here, and as long as I do live here, I need to be in close proximity (as in a few blocks away from) the ocean.

Vancouver truly makes me happy, and having a boat in Vancouver, it doesn’t get any better than that!

I guess West lake, Bear Lake or Purden just pale in comparison, eh?…

Very much so, there’s just something about the ocean….
