Day 94 – A Normal (?!) Night’s Sleep

94/365 (April 4, 2010) –

…or lack thereof. Last night I saw 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, and 6am. 7am is the only one I don’t recall seeing.

I’m a light sleeper at the best of times, an insomniac at the worst. But when you combine that with the fact that Kirk has a cold…. it’s just not a pretty night.

I had been tempted to do the 4am project, but after no sleep at all, I just couldn’t drag myself out of bed to do it and just kept hoping I’d get some real sleep. No such luck, I should have just gotten up and gone for a wander with my camera. It would have been less frustrating than seeing this over and over.

I can’t even think of what evil person devised those digital clocks that project the time on the ceiling. How awful is that?!?

Some things we come by honestly. I have been a crappy sleeper my whole life. My mother is too. I suppose I can hope that we share other genes since she has a whole lot of other things going for her. I haven’t resorted to sleeping pills yet. But I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to wake up almost every single night at somewhere around 4am. I used to think it was because the newspaper that was delivered at that time and the thud woke me. So we changed to the Globe and had it delivered to the front of the building. Either no difference, or I am so conditioned to waking up at 3:30-4:00 am that it didn’t matter.

A two by four might work…
