I grew up in a colder place than I currently live. I also grew up in a drier environment than I currently live in. But even when I was younger in that colder and drier place, I typically didn’t put a toque on until the temperature dropped down to somewhere in the range of -10C to -15C.
Years ago Kirk and I were in Seattle and there was a textile artist selling the most awesome winter hats.
“Warrior Hats” she called them.
I fell in love and she modified it for me with a few extra braids.
It’s super awesome.
The only problem is that I never get to wear it because it just doesn’t get cold enough for me to reach a point where I want to wear a toque. It just never really gets to what I deem “winter weather” here.
If nothing else, it makes me smile 😊
