Up close and blurry

by The Philosophical Fish

Nothing much to say today….spent the day working on a presentation for a session I am to teach next week….a topic I’ve not taught directly before. Sure, I am familiar with the material and I’ve been talking about/teaching it in an informal manner through one on one discussions for over a decade, but it’s still not my direct specialty and so more challenging to pull together. Particularly difficult when, despite many chunks of time blocked off during work hours to work on it…I was unable to actually use any of those hours to do so owing to all the other things that landed in my inbox.

So here I was, working all day on a scheduled day off….again. But when I finally had a complete enough first draft that, in a pinch, I could run with, I pulled out a camera and a fin little art lens and went to see the world in my garden, up close and blurry.

I do really love the ethereal nature of the photos that the Lensbaby lens optics produce. The optic swap system is so much fun to work with.

Today’s optic is the Twist 60, in a straight body, with three macro filters stacked on the end (+1, +2, and +6)..all plugged into the Nikon D810.

I am pleased with what came out of the camera on these.
