A bit of sun, a bit of cloud, and bit of wind, a bit of calm.
The day was a bit of everything, but it was a perfect day for an easy hike out to Francis Point, with a little Easter treat before heading back for a peaceful evening, reading and sipping cocktails, at our little vacation home back in Garden Bay.

There were lots of people on the little trail. When we passed this fellow I realized he was standing so motionless because he was sketching the scene.

When we reached the light station at the point, an eagle landed momentarily above us. It was a beautiful spot on a beautiful day and we clambered down as low as we could get to the water, partly to find a spot to appreciate the water and the scenery, partly to try and get away from a family with four extremely loud little children. We thought that the rocks we’d scaled and the drops we’d made would, be too much for them…but the father seemed to view our escape as a challenge and helped them all follow us. They stayed for a while but I think eventually realized how dangerous it was for the over-active little ones….a slip would mean they’d have quite the crash down the rocks and into the ocean, with no particularly easy retrieval. It was a gift of quiet when they moved back up the cliffs.
