(That’s an intentional typo)
Although I typically take a photo of cherry blossoms on January 1st to please my bestest friend and show her how much I love her and miss her…. it’s now finally, officially, cherry blossom season.
And the blooms are out on full display; the streets are lined and cherry blossom “snow” will be falling soon.
In a normal year, the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival would be halfway finished. But this is not a “normal” year, and the physical events of the festival have been cancelled, along with every other event imaginable, to manage the risk of a highly transmissible virus across the world.
So the cherry blossoms adorn the trees, and we see them in a physically isolated manner, in the company only of those we live with, and keep a safe distance between ourselves and others enjoying the annual spectacle.
