Four Years ago…..

I just realized that I missed my four year Flickr anniversary. Four years and two days ago (might have been three, or two, since this is a leap year) I joined this most excellent and awesome place called Flickr and discovered that the internet is a much smaller community than I ever could have imagined. And Flickr is a place that allows us views of each other, through the different ways we all see the world. I have been online since about 1992, but this new place was a place I never could have imagined. Who would every have thought that I’d “meet” (and actually meet in person) people I would come to treasure, for the simple reason that they share their worlds in their photos.

This was the first photo I posted on Flickr, our old guy, gone from this world since 2006. I still miss the cranky but loveable bugger. I was finishing up my PhD thesis at the time this photo was taken, spending a crazy time writing while commuting to Vancouver Island several times a week to teach. Tiko was “helping” me with my writing.
