54/365 (February 23, 2011) ….meanwhile, flowers are poking their noses out in Vancouver, slightly chilled, but certainly without a blanket of snow covering them.
Somehow or other, Vancouver has dodged a few bullets this winter. One one hand, it’s great, the lousy Vancouver drivers aren’t tested. They would certainly be out there, white knuckled, bald tires, texting and drinking their coffee while assuring themselves of how talented they are to have made it home without a crash…today.
On the flip side, I really like snow, I’ll take it any day over rain or dull grey skies.
People here are whining because it is going down to about -10C. However, the dampness here makes it seem a lot worse. The first year I moved here I was ready to snicker at everyone for crying when it got cold. I’ve been in temperatures of -40C and lower up in PG, no wind chill involved in that….that wasn’t anywhere NEAR as miserable as that first winter here where the temps went down to -16C. I’d NEVER felt that cold in my life.

Beautiful processing! I’m a bit to the south of you in Washington and at one point, I had ten inches on the ground today (I’m up in the mountains, though).

Sigh. It’s going to be -27 C tomorrow. Just thought I would let you know.
