214/365 (August 2, 2010) – Kirk had an urge to do the grind today. I took a more sensible route up the mountain, the tram. However, that meant I had a whack of time to kill while I waited for him. So I wandered about and rode a chairlift up the new Peak Chair to see the new wind turbine.
There is also a new short chairlift designed to get skiers out of a small bowl. At the end of the day skiers used to have a hard slog up a small slope where a short ope tow dragged you up and out over a hump and from there you could coast back down to the lodge. This short chair (the Greenway Chair) replaces that rope tow. Honestly, for the short stretch, I think the old rope tow made more sense though.
Funnily enough, I am pretty sure I’ve spent more time on ski hills this summer than we have in the past two winters…
