Day 67 – Toasted Marsh-Milo

by The Philosophical Fish

67/365 (March 8, 2010) – OK, I’m playing a frantic game of catch up after being away from my computer for over a week and this was the best I could do today.

We rarely turn our heat on in the bedroom but since I work at my computer during the day, I have a little space heater to keep warm. And the second it is turned on…cats appear as if by magic. They plant themselves in front of it and suck up all the heat, so even though I have a heater…they get the benefit and I stay chilled until they decide to walk away, which isn’t often.

Obviously I need another heater or two…

Familiar scenario, Oscar too, but my heater is a good bit taller than him and he sprawls on the floor in front of it, so I get the benefit too 🙂

Our old fellow (Tiko) used to do the same, but he’d belly right up to it and we’d get a bit worried that he’d catch fire so we’d reach down and pick him up and rotate him once in a while. He wouldn’t miss a beat and never budged. Like roasting a turkey minus the basting.

Amazing how close cats can get to heat without catching fire….! Cookie likes to sit on my knee in front of the stove and dangle bits of herself in the warmth – to be fair she’s keeping me warm too so we both benefit.
