The sun finally arrived, for now anyway. We had the coldest April on record! Although skiing was great, it’s really time to get on with things and progress to boating season, don’t you think?
Yesterday played with our emotions. The weatherman said sunny, but the day dawned cold and grey. Then, mid afternoon the clouds disappeared and the sun shone brilliantly! Vancouverites emerged from their hiding places and blinked in a confused daze. And then we all went for a walk. It was glorious! Later, the sky promised a nice sunset…and the people migrated to the beaches, pulled up a log, tossed some pebbles into the ocean, played with their dogs, and quietly soaked the last warmth of the day into sun starved pores. We weren’t disappointed, the sun fell beautifully, and when it disappeared behind the mountains, people quietly rose, shivered a bit in the sudden chill…and wandered off with a smile.
May the season begin….
